© Reuters TIM WIMBORNEDie Vereinigten Staaten sind Spitzenreiter beim globalen Waffenhandel. Im Jahr 2011 haben die USA die Rekordsumme von 66,3 Milliarden Dollar mit Rüstungsexporten umgesetzt. Das geht aus einem Bericht des unparteiischen Congressional Research Service für den US-Kongress hervor, der der New York Times vorliegt.
Die USA haben ihre Waffenexporte binnen einem Jahr verdreifacht und haben 2011 so viele Waffen wie noch nie zuvor ins Ausland verkauft.
