Dämmstoffe: Die Klassiker

Bei Polystyrol unterscheidet man EPS (Styropor) und XPS (Styrodur). EPS wird vor allem als Fassadendämmung bei Wärmedämmverbundsystemen verarbeitet. XPS ist druckfester und eignet sich zum Beispiel für Kellerwände oder Bodendämmung mit hoher Belastung. Polystyrol wird häufig verwendet, denn es ist sehr günstig in der Anschaffung. Aus ökologischer Sicht ist das Material bedenklich: Das Erdölprodukt ist nicht verrottbar.
