Die italienische Mode-Journalistin und Stil-Ikone Franca Sozzani ist am Donnerstag im Alter von 66 Jahren gestorben. Von 1988 bis 2006 war sie Chefredakteurin von Vogue Italia. Später war die gebürtige Lombardin für mehrere Magazine der Vogue-Gruppe tätig. Sie galt als Vertraute der Großen der italienischen Modeszene wie Donatella Versace und Giorgio Armani.

Die als "Lady der italienischen Mode" bekannte Sozzani, die seit längerer Zeit krank war, galt als Trendsetterin. "Mailand verliert heute eine wichtige Vertreterin des italienischen Stils. Sie war viel mehr als nur einer Modejournalistin, sie konnte vor allen anderen Trends erkennen", sagte der Mailänder Bürgermeister Giuseppe Sala.
