Die französische Polizei hat offenbar den Paparazzo ausfindig gemacht, der die Aufsehen erregenden Oben-Ohne-Fotos von Prinz Williams Ehefrau Kate geschossen hat. Gegen den Franzosen wurde bereits im Juni ein formelles Ermittlungsverfahren eingeleitet, wie am Donnerstagabend aus informierten Kreisen in Nanterre bei Paris verlautete. Dem freien Fotografen wird ein "Angriff auf die Privatsphäre durch Aufnahme oder Weitergabe von Bildern einer Person" vorgeworfen.

Das französische Klatschmagazin "Closer" hatte die Fotos im September veröffentlicht und damit den Zorn des britischen Königshauses auf sich gezogen. Die Bilder zeigen Kate nur mit einem Bikinihöschen bekleidet, wie sie auf der Terrasse eines Privatanwesens in der südfranzösischen Provence in der Sonne liegt oder ihren Mann eincremt. Die Herzogin von Cambridge, die am Montag ihren Sohn George Alexander Louis auf die Welt brachte, und William erstatteten kurz darauf Strafanzeige wegen "Verletzung der Privatsphäre".

"Findet die Ratte"

Geleitet werden die Ermittlungen von Untersuchungsrichtern in Nanterre. "Closer" weigerte sich aber, die Identität des Fotografen preiszugeben. Die Frage, wer die offenbar mit einem Teleobjektiv gemachten Fotos aufnahm, führte daher zu zahlreichen Spekulationen. So sagte ein Branchenkenner, ein in Südfrankreich lebender irischer Fotograf habe die Aufnahmen gemacht. Die britische Boulevard-Zeitung "The Sun" rief sogar zur Jagd nach dem mysteriösen Paparazzo auf und titelte: "Findet die Ratte".

Arbeitet in Paris

Der 1985 geborene Fotograf, gegen den nun ein formelles Ermittlungsverfahren eingeleitet wurde, arbeitet für eine Agentur im Großraum Paris, wie aus den informierten Kreisen verlautete. Die Polizei ermittelt zudem gegen einen weiteren Fotografen der Agentur. Gegen "Closer"-Chefredakteurin Laurence Pieau wurde den Angaben zufolge Anfang Juli wegen der Verbreitung der Fotos ein formelles Ermittlungsverfahren eingeleitet.

Seit April wird gefahndet

Bereits im April waren in der Affäre drei formelle Ermittlungsverfahren eingeleitet worden: Gegen der Chef des "Closer"-Mutterverlags Mondadori Frankreich, Ernesto Mauri, sowie gegen eine Fotografin und einen Verantwortlichen der Zeitung "La Provence". Eine Woche vor der Veröffentlichung der Oben-Ohne-Bilder von Kate in "Closer" hatte die Tageszeitung Bikini-Bilder von Kate abgedruckt. Die Zeitung bestreitet aber, dass die Oben-Ohne-Fotos von derselben Fotografin geschossen wurden.

Kate & Will klagen

William und Kate hatten nicht nur Strafanzeige erstattet, sondern auch ein zivilrechtliches Verfahren gegen die weitere Veröffentlichung und Verbreitung der Fotos angestrengt. Das Paar bekam zwar Recht und "Closer" musste die Fotodateien aushändigen. Sie konnten aber nicht verhindern, dass auch andere europäische Blätter die Fotos druckten.
