Der Russe Fedor Konjuchow steht vor einem neuen Weltrekord: Konjuchow werde vermutlich am Samstag seine Solo-Weltumrundung in einem Heißluftballon erfolgreich beenden, teilte sein Team mit.

Weltrekord liegt bei 13 Tagen und wurde 2002 von dem inzwischen verstorbenen US-Milliardär
Steve Fossett aufgestellt.
Konjuchows Sohn Oscar sagte dem australischen RundfunksenderABC, sein Vater habe einige "harte" Tage hinter sich. "Aber er sprach gerade mit uns und sagte, alles sei in Ordnung. Er freut sich darauf, die australische Küste zu sehen".
