Neymar & Messi: neuer Star und alter Hase

Neymar gibt am Mittwoch sein Champions-League-Debüt, Kollege Messi ist bereits sein halbes Leben in Barcelona.

Frank de Boer gastiert am Mittwoch mit Ajax Amsterdam in Barcelona. Der Niederländer spielte dort von 1999 bis 2003. Aber es ist nicht das Wiedersehen mit dem Ajax-Coach und dem ehemaligen Barça-Talent Bojan Krkic, das die Partie so interessant macht. Es ist der Erstauftritt von Barcelonas neuem Star, Neymar, in der Champions League.

Barcelonas Superstar ist und bleibt aber Lionel Messi, der nun schon sein halbes Leben beim FC Barcelona ist. Der 26-Jährige landete am 17. September 2000, vor 13 Jahren, am Flughafen „El Prat“, um bei Barcelona ausgebildet zu werden. 2003 spielte er erstmals bei den Profis in einem Freundschaftsspiel, 2004 in der Meisterschaft, 2005 in der Champions League.

Messi und der 21-jährige Brasilianer Neymar haben erst drei Partien zusammen in der Startelf bestritten. Doch die Medien überschlagen sich mit Huldigungen. „MessiNeymar: Fusión Atómica“, schrieb die Sporttageszeitung El Mundo Deportivo und bezeichnete die beiden als bestes Doppel der Welt. Am Wochenende spielten beide über 90 Minuten, Messi im Angriffszentrum und Neymar zu seiner Linken, dennoch hätte es beinahe einen Ausrutscher in der Meisterschaft gegeben. Alexis Sanchez sicherte den Katalanen erst in der 94. Minute den 3:2-Sieg gegen Sevilla. „Wir haben das Spiel nicht kontrolliert“, sagte Trainer Gerardo Martino. Auch für den argentinischen Trainer ist es das erste Spiel in der Champions League. Allerdings kann er sich darüber nicht sonderlich freuen, weil sein Vater gestorben ist. Sofort nach dem Spiel fliegt Martino zurück nach Argentinien.

Auch für Christian Fuchs beginnt am Mittwoch das Abenteuer Champions League. Der Teamkapitän stand am Wochenende wegen einer leichten Verletzung nicht im Kader von Schalke 04.
