Das Land des Glücks zelebriert so die Geburt des Prinzen.

"Unser Glück kennt keine Grenzen", verkündete das Königspaar Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck (35) und Jetsun Pema (25) zur Geburt ihres ersten Sohnes. Und das in einem Land, indem das Recht auf Glück in der Verfassung steht.

Ebenfalls in der Verfassung verankert ist, dass 60 Prozent des Landes zu jeder Zeit bewaldet sein muss, passend dazu, wurden zur Feier der Geburt des Prinzen nun 108.000 junge Bäume gepflanzt. "Im Buddhismus steht der Baum für den Ernährer und Versorger aller Lebensformen," sagte Tenzin Lekhpal, der die Initiative koordiniert. "Es symbolisiert Langlebigkeit, Gesundheit, Schönheit und sogar Mitgefühl."

Schon einmal sorgte das Land mit einer Baumpflanz-Aktion für Aufsehen: 2015 wurden in einer Stunde fast 50.000 Bäume gepflanzt - damit steht das Land im Guinness Buch der Rekorde.
