Ein bekannter somalischer Radio-Journalist ist am Sonntagabend vor seinem Haus in der Hauptstadt Mogadischu erschossen worden. Der staatliche Sender "Radio Mogadischu", für den Mohamed Ibrahim Rage tätig war, gilt als einer der größten Kritiker der islamischen Miliz Al-Shabaab. Es wird vermutet, dass Anhänger der Terrorgruppe für die Tat verantwortlich sind. "Wir sind geschockt von dieser schrecklichen Nachricht", sagte am Montag ein Kollege des Journalisten der Nachrichtenagentur dpa. Die Täter seien entkommen und auf der Flucht, fügte er hinzu.

Rage war erst vor kurzem nach Somalia zurückgekehrt, nachdem er zuvor zwei Jahre in Uganda im Exil gelebt hatte. Bislang sind allein in diesem Jahr vier Journalisten in Mogadischu getötet worden. Die Al-Shabaab, die vor allem im Süden des Krisenlandes aktiv ist und mittlerweile weitgehend aus Mogadischu vertrieben wurde, verübt weiterhin regelmäßig blutige Anschläge in der Hauptstadt.
