Mehrere Verletzte bei Stierhatz in Pamplona

Für viele Teilnehmer ist die Stierhatz eine Hetz'.
Teilnehmer wurden von Hörnern getroffen und zu Boden getrampelt.

Im nordspanischen Pamplona sind am Donnerstag acht Menschen bei der traditionellen Stierhatz verletzt worden. Nach Angaben der Regionalregierung von Navarra wurden ausschließlich Spanier verletzt, zwei davon wurden von Stierhörnern getroffen. Bei den Verletzten handelte es sich demnach um sieben Männer und eine Frau zwischen 18 und 57 Jahren. Sie kamen ins Krankenhaus.

Der Zustand von drei der Verletzten war noch nicht bekannt, die anderen seien nur leicht verletzt worden. Das Rote Kreuz teilte außerdem mit, dass 57 Menschen an Ort und Stelle behandelt worden seien. Diese hätten größtenteils nicht ins Krankenhaus gemusst.

Die Stierhatz ist Teil des jährlichen San-Fermin-Festivals. Es wurde am Donnerstag vergangener Woche eröffnet. Seitdem gab es bereits einige Verletzte, darunter Franzosen und US-Bürger.

Jeden Morgen werden sechs Stiere durch die historische Altstadt von Pamplona getrieben. Die Teilnehmer rennen dabei vor den Tieren etwa 800 Meter durch die engen Gassen der Stadt - dabei gilt es vielen als besonders mutig, die Stiere möglichst nah an sich herankommen zu lassen. Das Festival zieht jedes Jahr hunderttausende Besucher aus dem In- und Ausland an.
